The Power of Encouragement!

When I was growing up in the 50's and 60's, I remember wanting to be an artist! By the time I was in high school, I had given up on the idea. Why? Because, I received mostly C's and B's in my Art Classes, in my young mind, I interpreted that to mean, "I wasn't good enough!" Why did I believe that LIE I told myself? Probably, because I had no one at home to really ENCOURAGE and SUPPORT my artistic and creative longings. That just was NOT who my family was.... (A generational thing). It wasn't until I was in my late 50's that I had the courage to pick up a paintbrush and a canvas and go at it again. That was because I had a friend, Linda Teeter, who encouraged both me, and my wife Cindy, to show our artistic skills at our City's monthly Art Walk! Because I had believed that lie about myself for so many years, it took some real courage to decide to put my work out in public. That very first Art Walk, we both sold some art! Things totally changed after that, and our art careers truly took off. It was that one afternoon of encouragement from Linda that made all the difference in the world! I look back and see that I wasted nearly 4 decades of joy, by not believing in myself. That is the main reason I came up with the idea to add this "product" to our online store. It's a simple thing that can truly change the course of a child's life. I'm sure there are other ways and cheaper ways to reproduce a child's artwork to hang in your home. But in my mind, nothing says "ARTIST" better than a gallery-quality stretched canvas, (on wood stretcher bars), that then has been beautifully framed for “exhibition”. What a wonderful way to encourage a child!

Watch for yourself...
