Family Secrets - The Storytelling Art of Steve Head - ART BOOK
This beautiful, 28 page, full color, art book features 27 pieces of art from my traveling exhibit of the same name. The exhibit is currently on display at the Glore Psychiatric Museum in St. Joseph, MO. The book provides background information and the stories behind each of these works of art. It's a powerful exhibit that deals with topics of abuse, addiction, and mental illness. These works touch nearly everyone in some form or fashion. We ALL have stories and this exhibit connects to your heart! There are two versions available: Hardbound or Spiral Bound
Family Secrets - The Storytelling Art of Steve Head
About this exhibit:
Few would disagree, that life can be hard and this world can be cruel. Many of us bear inward scars, (and sometimes unhealed spiritual wounds), that can go a lifetime - unseen by the rest of the world. I believe we ALL have an untold story. This exhibit represents a few of those stories! Many come from my own family history and from my own personal experiences. I am hopeful, that my art can not only inspire conversations about hard to talk about issues, but give you permission to tell your own story as well.
My Artist Statement:
The essence of every human being is his or her inward spirit. I believe that who we are as a person, is the compilation of every thought, memory and human interaction we have ever experienced. My goal, as an artist, is to create visual expressions of those unseen places of the heart; of the child within; and of those shared experiences that connect our hearts to those around us.
